We’re proud to present our next speaker at TEDxMaastricht: Coen van Veenendaal. Erik (Coen) van Veenendaal is president of Inspire2Live, an organization that facilitates and inspires people to live a Healthy and Happy live in Harmony with cancer. Erik started the most successful fundraising event Alpe d’HuZes in the Netherlands raising over € 25 mio in 5 years. Inspire2Live aims at extending that success to other countries by inspiring people to give their heart and soul in helping others deal with this overwhelming disease.

In 2009 a new dream was formulated: Get cancer in control in 10 years. With two of his friends he travelled the world to get top scientists (among them Nobel laureates sir Paul Nurse, Harold Varmus, Jim Watson and Harold Zurhausen) to join in this daring endeavor. The result is a global scientific program ‘Understanding Life!’ that started this January at the kick-off conference in Amsterdam where the worlds leading scientists gave their commitment to make this dream a reallity.
